What is Warts? |
| |
Warts are cutaneous neoplasms caused by papillomaviruses. Over 50 different human papillomaviruses (HPV) have been described. Types 1, 2, 4 and 7 cause typical verrucae vulgaris. These lesions are sessile, dome-shaped, usually about a centimeter in diameter, and have a surface made up of many small filamentous projections. These papillomaviruses also cause typical plantar warts and filiform warts in intertriginous areas. Plantar warts are endophytic and are covered by thick keratin.
Paring of the wart will generally demonstrate a central core of keratinized debris and punctuate bleeding points. Filiform warts are most common on the face, neck, and skin folds and present as papillomatous lesions on a narrow base. Types 6 and 11 are associated with typical lesions of condyloma acuminata, which generally begins as small papillomas and may grow to form large, fungating lesions. |

How to identify Venereal Warts? |
| |
In women, they may involve labia, perineum, or perianal skin. Additionally, the mucosa of the vagina, urethra, and anus can be involved, as well as the cervical epithelium. In men, the lesions often occur initially in the coronal sulcus, but they may be seen on the shaft of the penis, the scrotum, perianal skin, or in the urethre. They initially appear as soft, pink, filiform lesions, which may enlarge and coalesce to form large cauliflower-like aggregates. |

Available treatment for Venereal Warts |
| |
In treating venereal warts, most doctors employ physical therapy and cell toxin methods mainly because of their high success rate in treatment. However the high recurrence rate was a common drawback issue and the highly effective supplementary treatment to reduce the recurrence rate was lacked. ZHAOKE Yallaferon, which is in gel form, can be applied locally and directly to the infection site and evidenced to significantly reduce the recurrence rate. |

Prevalency |
| |
In the PRC, 632,307 cases of venereal disease were reported in 1998 in the Nationwide Venereal Disease Report while the number of cases reported in 1997 was only 461,183. The affected cases have increased at an annual rate of 37.11%. According to the Nationwide Venereal Disease Report, venereal warts ranked second out of the seven types of venereal disease in the PRC growing at an annual rate of 35.12%. |
